FAQs
Why are you called Griff’s Place?
Because our surname is Griffiths, but Griffiths’s Place is too long and too hard to pronounce.
Where are you located?
Our street address is 56-60 McBride Street, Cockatoo. We are the house at the top of the main street and there is a bus stop right out front. We have a small carpark at the rear of the property, which you can enter via Fairbridge Lane.
What are your opening hours?
Our regular hours are:
Friday 2:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 10:00pm
Sunday 11:00am - 6:00pm
If you wish to make a large booking outside of these times, please reach out and we will try our best to accomodate your request.
Can I rent Griff’s Place for a private event?
Yes! Please get in touch with Sam to work out details. Ideally a tour of the venue beforehand is preferred to ensure it meets your needs.
Is Griff’s Place wheelchair accessible?
We have renovated an 80 year old house on very uneven ground. There are steps and narrow pathways all over the property that unfortunately are not suitable for wheelchairs.
Do you sell food and beverages?
We do not sell food or drinks at Griff’s Place, but there are many shops close by that do! You are welcome to bring a packed picnic to have on our back lawn.
Do I need to book in advance?
We strongly advise booking the Escape Room in advance, but walk ins are welcome for other activities.
Is there an age limit on the attractions?
We don’t have a strict age limit for our attractions—everyone is welcome! However, we encourage parents and guardians to use their best judgment when deciding if an activity is suitable for their child. Some experiences, like the escape room, may be more challenging for younger players, and younger children may need assistance with certain games. Please note that we offer a single pricing structure for all guests, regardless of age. If you have any questions about what might be best for your family, feel free to ask.
How does the arcade operate?
Nearly all the arcade machines are on free play, which means when you pay for Arcade Entry, you are allowed to stay and play for as long as you wish (while we’re open, of course!). The only exception to the free play rule is the machines that you can win prizes from. They require $2 coins to operate.
